There is very little information available about this case. If anyone has any further information, please contact the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office at 760.836.3215.
Christina Ann Battin was last seen leaving the Red Roof Inn in Thousand Palms, California (located in the Coachella Valley of Riverside County) with an unidentified male on June 9, 2003. Christina was only fourteen-years-old at the time of her disappearance. The male accompanying her was approximately twenty-two-years old with a tattoo on his left arm and drove a late-model blue Ford Explorer. (The design of the tattoo is unknown.)
In July of that same year, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department attempted to locate Christina in the hopes that she could serve as a witness in a child molestation case against a fifty-six-year-old man from Rancho Mirage named Douglas J. Marino. Marino was arrested on July 9th for suspected child molestation of a seven-year-old child. Investigators hoped to file additional charges against Marino involving an eight-year old, however, failure to locate Christina impeded their efforts.
As mentioned above, there is very little information available regarding both Christina Ann Battin and the case against Douglas J. Marino. When Christina was last seen, she had blonde hair, blue eyes, was approximately 5’4–5’6 and between 100–110 lbs. She would be turning thirty-two years old this September.
