***Recently, while going through the family home after losing my mother to Covid, I came across the writing of my great-grandmother, Minnie Louise Bumphrey, who was a published writer and poet. Over the next few days I will be sharing her works on my blog.***
I saw an old house while walking down a street where I had not been for many years.
That old house brought back sweet memories and those memories brought tears.
I lived my childhood days all over again.
But that old house now was not old, it was new.
Again, I heard the talk and laughter of youth.
Again, I was young and you were there too.
But dreams or memories I never stay long.
The dreams faded and I was there alone.
I passed on down the old street leaving behind my childhood dreams and home.
